Handmade Jewelry

My daughter loves playing with beads and making bracelets for her friends.  At first she would just make bracelets for herself, but then she decided to start giving them to people as gifts for birthdays.  I think it is a great idea because she is giving each person a piece of jewelry that's personalized. She incorporates the persons favorite colors into the bracelets that she makes for them.  There are so many different variations that she can make and even if she gives them a beaded bracelet for many years no two will be alike which makes for a great collection!

Passing Down Jewels

A good friend of mine recently proposed to his wife with her grandmothers ring.  She immediately started crying when she saw the ring.  Jewelry that's personalized and is passed down will always hold a special meaning for the person receiving it.  I have a diamond ring that my husband proposed to me with and I am going to save it for my daughter.  I feel that jewelry that has been in your family for a length of time is a wonderful thing, especially something like a pocket watch engraved with a family name, date or special quote.
